The Mug That Reminded Me…

This morning, I poured my coffee into the chipped ceramic mug I’ve had for years — the one I almost threw out last winter. It’s not fancy. The handle’s worn, the glaze cracked. But today, it felt… just right.

As I wrapped my hands around its warmth, I remembered the friend who gave it to me. She handed it over during a season when my world was upside down and said, “Here — something to hold onto.”

I didn’t realize back then that she didn’t mean the mug.

We often chase the big things — the breakthroughs, the grand gestures, the perfect days. But gratitude, I’m learning, lives in the quiet. In familiar objects. In old memories. In warm coffee and the people who stay.

Today, I’m thankful for the little things that keep showing up — even when I forget to.

Gratitude isn’t always loud.
Sometimes, it’s a chipped mug. A warm sip. A quiet reminder that you have enough. That you are enough.

What’s one small thing you’re thankful for today?
